We regret to inform our loyal patrons, who have been visiting us in the RI building for so many generations, that we will not be operating at Big E 2019. Our contract was not renewed, much to our disbelief. Due to the overwhelming number of phone calls that we’ve received, we would also like to address a rumor going around that we chose not to return to the fair this year. This decision, to replace us with a direct competitor, was made by Rhode Island Commerce Corporation, the entity acting on behalf of the State of Rhode Island. To this date, we have yet to receive official communication from Rhode Island Commerce Corporation, so the cause for this is still unclear. We will not be able to serve our Kenyon’s clam cakes and chowder at the Big E 2019. We at Kenyon’s will do our very best to relocate our booth out on the grounds at the Big E next year, but it was impossible to do so for 2019 due to the lack of communication and tardiness of the RI Commerce Corporation and their legal representation. It's a shame that after over 60 years of participation, this process could not be handled amicably or with any professional courtesy.

We will be at the Durham Fair from September 26-29 and we will be having our Autumn Open House at the grist mill October 19-20.

Kenyon's Grist Mill has been at the Rhode Island Building on the esteemed Avenue of States for almost 60 years!  Our dedicated staff, friends and customers make this 17-day fair not only a blast, but also a tradition.  We serve Johnny Cakes, Clam Cakes, as well as New England and Rhode Island Clam Chowder featured in our bread bowls that are made with Kenyon's whole wheat flour.  This fair is the largest in the Northeast offering hundreds of major exhibits, rides, concerts, entertainment, history, agriculture, animals, shopping, crafts, circus, parades, and not to mention...great food!   Event Calendar
